Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!

I love Halloween...maybe simply because I love costumes and I love candy. :)

We dressed up at work today! I dressed up like a cat. It's fitting, really. Ryan made my ears, so please pay particular attention to them. He worked really hard. :)

Chloe was totally freaked out this morning when I had my face "painted" and my ears on! She puffed up and was meowing so loud!! Poor baby.

Here are some pics!

Meow!

Sorry it's blurry. This is my co-worker, Marie & I.

Licensed to Wed!

I am in SUCH a good mood!!

This morning Ryan & I went to the Justice of the Peace and got our marriage license!!! When we got to the building, the lady opened the door and said "Let me guess...marriage license?" I was like "Wow, is it that obvious?!" ;) So, we filled out the paperwork and paid our $67. When she printed out the actual license, and had us sign it, Ryan & I looked at each other and both smiled ear to ear. It was very exciting!!!!

9 days to go!!!!!!

I hope this is as funny to you...

So, when we got to work Monday, there was a "wet paint" sign on the stairs and the stairs were covered in sand. We could not understand what the sand was for.

Today, one of my co-workers, Dona, had a "light bulb moment". She said "OMG. When I talked to the building owner, he told me he hired a crew to come sand and repaint the stairs. I came up the office Saturday and I tried to speak to them but they spoke no english."

These guys literally went and bought a bag of sand and threw it all over our stairs!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently, that's what they got from "sand the stairs".

I laughed for a good 5 minutes.

Gray Be Gone!

This is my Dad. I don't have a recent picture with me, so this is us about 10 years ago. Notice that gorgeous head of silver hair.

I mention him, and his hair, because, every time I look in the mirror, I am reminded that I am most definitely Dick Silverman's daughter. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it means that I am going pre-maturely gray[although we like to call it "silver"]. I try not to let is bother me but at 25 it feels weird to have as much gray as I do. A lot of people roll their eyes when I say this...until I show them.

I give you Exhibit A:
<- I have a distinct "skunk stripe".

So, I made a totally vain move, and I decided to have it colored before the wedding. I have embraced the fact that I am going to be 100% gray by 35, if not sooner, but I really don't want the silver hair screaming at me in my wedding pictures. So, as of Saturday, the grays are now a nice honey color. YAY!

Now, I give you Exhibit B:
Much better!

Ok. That's all. Just wanted to celebrate being gray-free. :)

Shopped till I dropped!

What a weekend!!! I'm exhausted, haha.

Friday - Ryan & I went to my Mom's to see Frankie's hair cut. [It looks AWESOME!] Then we head to Carino's for "2 Can Dine for $19.99". YUM! Then, my Mom & I went to Macy's to do a little shopping. We both got adorable winter coats, stocked up on Clinique [and got a free gift] and I got a little something for the wedding night ;). Everything was on sale.

Saturday - VOTED!!! Then dropped my wedding band at the jewelers to be sized, had my gray hair colored, picked up my bridal portraits, dropped them at the framers, shopped a bit then Ryan called at whined that he missed me and wanted me to come home :). We went grocery shopping at like 9pm. It was great!

Today - Ryan & I cleaned our cars this morning, went a got a wedding gift for Sharif & Kelly's wedding next weekend, then picked up my Mom, went to the Bridal shop to get her dress and my shoes, went to Dillard's & Lane Bryant and we both got SO much cute stuff. And EVERYTHING was on sale!!!

Anyway, I am spent. But, the lousy economy does make for some great deals while shopping!!!

Introductions

Ok, so I feel like I should introduce a few people who I will most likely be mentioning in the blog. And after this, if I mention someone, I will explain who they are and I will try to post a picture. I like to put faces with names, so I assume everyone wants to see who I am speaking of. :)

So - I'm Rachel [duh].

This is my other half, Ryan.

Our Furbaby, Chloe.
She is a brat and we love her like she is our child.
It's sad, I know.

I mentioned my brother, Frankie.
He's adorable. And hilarious.

Then there is my amazing Mom.
This is us in 1999. [I wish I was still that skinny.]

Ryan's family; Richard, Susan and Scott.
[Ryan & I are in this one too.]

Ok - I think that's a good start.
[And all the pictures I have on this computer... :) ]

A new way to invest

I got this in an email today and I had to share it!! My brother, Frankie, and Ryan will be thrilled!

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock oneyear ago, you would have $49 left.

With Fannie Mae, you would have $2.50 left of the original $1,000.

With AIG, you would have less than $15 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, consumed all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214 cash. Based on the above, the best current investment advice isto drink heavily and recycle.
It's called the 401-Keg.

Ready to be a Newlywed Naslund

Well, I wasn't going to start this until I was officially a Newlywed Naslund, but I cannot resist. We are 18 days away from the wedding, and I feel like I have ants in my pants!! I just want November 8th to be here already!! I've already started changing my name on things like magazine subscriptions. That's how ready I am. ;) Perhaps it's silly, but I have been waiting for this moment, not just my wedding but marrying Ryan, for what feels like forever. And now I am only 18 days away!!! At least 20 people have asked me "Are you freaking out yet?!". So, I'm starting to wonder, "Am I supposed to be?!". Ryan & I both feel very calm. Very ready. Very excited. I'm not saying I haven't freaked out...I'm just saying I'm not now.
Hurry up November 8th...Hurry up.

18. Eighteen. Dieciocho. Dix-huit.
